    Tech MVP

Who will be team MVP this year for Tech? I ran out of space or I would have added Brian Rike to the list also. Too many good players to get them all in!

I'm gonna say Rike...I think he looked really good over last weekend and hitting in front of those other guys has the chance to score a lot of runs...but it's early so who knows

I actually think Rupert is the KEY to the success of this team making a Regional -

If he comes back strong and has a decent to good year - the Dawgs should win close to 40+ ballgames - if he doesn't it will be closer to 30 wins....

Since you left Rike off, I voted other.

    Re: Tech MVP

If I could edit "Other" to "Brian Rike" I would, so Other = Rike.

Just as I suspected there is no clear cut MVP- 4 guys tied for the lead currently. This is unquestionably one of the deepest teams we've ever had and it might be the strongest roster top-to-bottom we've had.

I refuse to vote....we have a great team! Sim can take out one player and put another in and things don't get bad.

I voted other b/c I think Rike will have a monster year.

    Re: Tech MVP

It may a little early to decide MVP, but I think we know what Jericho Jones is capable of with the bat; and that will improve. I saw him pitch a helluva game in game 2 of the Ark. series. I think it was a 4 hit shut out through 5 innings. He shows promise....

I was extremely happy with what I saw last weekend. We played the Hogs very well (considering they're #4). I'm very excited to see the Dawgs swinging the bat and being very aggressive at the plate. And pitching wasn't too bad either. This is a very exciting year for the Diamond Dawgs!!

    Re: Tech MVP

What we know is what Jericho was capable of last year. Baseball's a fickle game. Kids get in streaks, slumps,...we'll just have to see. I had a hard time last year believing JJ was as good as what we saw. I'm having a hard time this year believing he is no better than what I'm seeing. 1-11??? 8 strikeouts in 4 games??? That's a rough start. I hope he's on the upswing.

    Re: Tech MVP

This poll is still open if you haven't voted for your early MVP prediction. It truly is a difficult prediction for this talented team.

Right now the votes received order is:
    1. Jericho Jones (3-run homer on Saturday)
    2. Brandon Hudson (3-run homer on Saturday and pitched 5+ innings to get the win)
    3. "Brian Rike = Other" (Solo homer on Saturday)
    4. Courtney Jones (SF RBI on Saturday)
