Sorry, I misread the post, "HOME TEAM" is the correct lyric! Gave AG credit when it should have been BD!

And I believe they just play "GOD Bless America" at Yankee games during the 7th inning stretch.

Seems to me that back in the day, the Shreveport Captains used to play something other than "take me out to the ballgame", cause I remember me and my buddies, who had usually had a few by the seventh would try to sing take me out to the ballgame over whatever it was the PA was playing at Fair Grounds Field

Unless the genius who wrote that wonderful song left a record of his intention, I would give that person the credit for writing it in a way that allowed for substituting any two-syllable team name for home team. Otherwise, it probably would not be universally accepted and various teams would have poor substitutes for it.

Somebody listening to radio please update for those of us who can't always get the game online.

The Hogs' field was frozen still today, so they are playing a double-header tomorrow. It was 7 degrees in fayetteville at 6 a.m. today!

Aub, go to LaTEchSports.com - men's sports - baseball scroll down left column to Live
Stats. We're up 5-0, still batting in bottom of third.

At Minute Maid Park during the 7th inning stretch, they play "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" followed by "Deep in the Heart of Texas." On Sundays, they sing "Good Bless America" in addition to the other two.

I was at Yankee Stadium twice last summer, and, while "God Bless America" is sung first during the seventh inning stretch (and is generally the only song heard during TV broadcasts), fans at the House That Ruth Built still sing "Take Me out to the Ballgame" just afterward.

I know that it's probably a sad commentary on my life, but I've really enjoyed reading all the comments on this thread! Very interesting!

Yeah, we don't usually share that kind of information. For some of us, though, our post count alone provides all the sad commentary that our lives need.

Ask Jeff Gordon and 40 thousand Cubs fans, they'll tell you.

I was watching that game, I think they had to escort JG out of Wrigley. He was the all time worst. Second would be Ditka but he gets a pass. Ozzy Osbourn was almost as bad but he gets a pass for destroying his brain and being dyslexic.

My favorite of all time behind Harry would be Jack Black who rocked the song and instead of yelling "lets get some runs" at the end yelled "lets drink some rum".
