DFM, that was cold (pun intended).

I have a 2 - 5 which I left an hour early to make it to the baseball and softball games. I attended my 5:30 to 9:15 class for about 90 minutes before heading back to the Loveshack for the completion of the second game. But, as far as general student attendance, I agree the cold played a bigger factor.

The "Arkansas Candyman" tells me that a rules change for next year will prohibit teams from starting the season until March 1st because the southern teams have an advantage over the northern teams in being able to play more games. I guess these are the last freezer box games we'll have.

The changes next year set Feb. 1 as the start date for practice, with the regular season to open on the Friday that falls 13 weeks before the selection of the 64-team NCAA regional field on Memorial Day. The 2009 season will start Feb. 20, with the first games of 2010 set for Feb. 26.
