Nevada's top hitter out for the year
Tough break for Nevada baseball...
Junior outfielder/infielder Matt Bowman will miss the remainder of the 2007 baseball season after tearing his right pectoral muscle while sliding into second base. He is expected to miss three to six months and could possibly undergo surgery.
Bowman began the 2007 season as the Pack’s top returning hitter after leading the team with a .376 avg., 17 doubles and 82 hits last year. He started in the Pack’s first five games this year batting .358 with seven hits and two home runs in his first 19 at-bats.

To lose your top hitter is a crushing blow to Nevada. Bowman looked like Nevadas' potential MVP for this season. Maybe he can redshirt and come back nex't season.
