XM-Sirius Merger -

Stern has been anything but a "bust" for Sirius. He drove Sirius subscriptions up to XM-like levels beginning a full year before NASCAR joined the Sirius lineup. Even with the NFL, Sirius was woefully behind XM in subscriptions before the Stern effect. Whether he's your cup of tea or not, you cannot question his draw.

Better hope it goes through, I don't think neither can survive much longer bleeding red like they are -

The NFL & Sern for Sirius were major busts, that's why they jumped on NASCAR - XM now has the cash flow to get the merger/buyout - because they are pushing 8 million ins subscribers -

I hope it goes through, baseball fan so i have xm, but I think WAC sports has a contract with Sirius. Would love to be able to get the Tech Games on the radio.

I bought Sirius to listen to the Saints as I drove back from TECH games. As long as I have them and Elvis on channel 13, I will be happy.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but what the hey. I've enjoyed Sirius during these dull winter months (When not listening to Fox and White, of course!).


My question: Does the WAC seriously have a Sirius contract? Any way can Tech get Dave on there? It'd be great for fall-time travelers. And on the subject of Men's basketball, I caught an IVY League game on Sirius the other night. The IVY League??? Why not the WAC?

BTW, Dan Patrick starts on SI.com on thursday. His new radio show streams from 8-11 CST on www.DanPatrick.com. Just read his blog where his show will be on XM144.
Listened to Archie Manning interview . . . spent lots of time talking about Bradshaw's $200K salary vs. his $600K and how jealous TB and other qb's were of highest salary of the day for QBs.

Also as an update on the merger, Sirius shareholders did approve the merger and we should know if it is approved in the next month or so. I would like the merger since I would like to have PGA coverage, but refuse to give up my NFL coverage on Sirius. I may be buying a new Ford vehicle with XM built in which may force a switch for me.

Ford has sirius, not XM.

I thought one of those 2009 F150 Platinum videos (posted in another thread) mentioned that Ford was switching in 2009 to XM... Good news for me if I misheard. I enjoy Sirius, but I am really wanting to get the 2009 Mustang redesign.

I think the merger would be structured where the signal works on both equipment for all OLD current accounts in existence prior to the merger....
