Baseball Conference play & the homestretch

Well, after 6 conference games we have almost an identical record as last season at this point. We are 3-3 in conference & 19-12 overall. Last season we were 3-3 in conference & 18-12 overall. The home series vs New Mexico State is very big.It will be interesting to see how things shake out nex't weekend when we are idle in conference play. NM State is also 3-3 and tied with us.There is no way we go 15-13 down the homestretch like we did last season. We need to win every conference series and I beleve we can. GO DAWGS !!!!!

Me too!! How much do you Texas guys know about Dallas Baptist this year? Usually pretty good but we should take care of business. Of course the conf games are more important, this weekend is pretty big also. Are they still playing as an independent?

Yes, DBU is still independent. They have plenty of huge kids on the roster, one of which is a pitcher who is as big as Luke. They have beaten Fresno, Iowa, put on a hitting clinic sweeping NSU 3 games in Natchitoches, beat Mississippi State, and lost to #20 Oklahoma 9-7 after forcing the Sooners 7 pitchers deep into their pen.

DO NOT pitch to #21 Garrett Baker! He is knocking home runs out of parks like Barry Bonds at an amusement park.

Put it this way.....we better bring our A game if we want to win the DBU series. Their strength of schedule helps keep them playing at a high level.Beating them should help our RPI so these are important games.
