Barmore will always love the Techters and sure knows what he is talking about. Get 3 or 4 top players and you are in business again. Sounds like he has a great relationship with Long and Kim Mulkey - lots of respect.

I wonder if Chris would accept an interview. That would be interesting and, probably, a good thing. After all, he needs to have a chance to tell his side of things.

Barmore is a class guy, I doubt he would take shots at anyone without reason.
However, I do wonder who these "people" are that Barmore said gave up on the Techsters. I don't think anyone here wants to "surrender the program". So who is surrendering the program? He also says we should not accept the fact that we cannot be the best. I for one don't, and that is why I was disappointed in this team. It seemed at least for me they accepted they weren't the best.

He didn't take any shots at Chris. He stated that he is 100% behind Chris and that Chris is like a son to him.
He did state that he wished they would have taken the WNIT bid, but added that Chris knew his team and what was best.
Lots of support for Kim. Stated that he doesn't watch much wbb, except for former asst. coaches and players. Predicts the championship will be between Tennessee and lsu.

Also, stated that it should be easy to rebuild this program. Every player that played four years for Barmore went to, at least, one final four. Stated that is what kept bringing the players in. Reiterated that 2 or 3 great players would put us right back in the mix.
Also, stated that he recruited Pokey Chatman and that was one of the first players that he went after that chose somewhere else to play.
Yeah, well knowing what we do now, it's no wonder she chose Sue Gunter over Barmore.

Coach Chris Long needs to put away the tunnel, the red carpet, the dim lights and the spot lights--all the hoopla previously used to introduce the Lady Techsters. None of this should be used during the 2007-08 season. It is wrong for a team to ride the laurels of previous teams if that team has not proven itself capable of achieving similar accomplishments. The string of NCAA tournament appearances has been broken, the string of home conference wins has been broken among other failures. The next version of the Lady Techsters must earn their own place in the limelight.
I also felt that Long should have discountinued the introduction hoopla following the first conference loss at home, and told the team that it was over until they at least secured another NCAA appearance.
I am listening to the archived show. The guys are talking about Starkey not having a degree, and, evidently, that it is not required to be a coach. Therefore, it must not be the reason Theresa Weatherspoon is not one of our coaches. This is assuming Tech operates under the same set of rules as LSU.
Yes, I thought the same thing when listening to that.
