I love chicken hot and fast. I’ll do chicken around 300 until they temp about 145 in the breast, then I blast em up to about 400 for the last 20 degrees. Gets the skin nice and crisp.

I'm always a fan of cooking low and slow so I think go longer not hotter.

Seems like it’s not gonna take too long. 1:45 in and we are already at 149 internal temp.

I like slow smoked chicken, but I'd rather have it just cooked in the oven or crock pot. I never waste a good fire on chicken alone. Gotta have some other meat burning too.

Truth. Chicken is the Wal-Mart of meat.

True, but then again (and sad to admit) without Champ967 (aka the Context Assassin) the board would be a more dull and humorless place.

I'm putting context assassin on my resume.

And, yes, I noted several opportunities above, but it's no fun if they're expected.

I'm waiting on Lowe's to put the Pit Boss 1000 on sale. They had the smaller one on sale recently, but I'd rather have more room and the larger hopper.

I completely agree. However, Walmart was delicious!
