CHARCOAL ONLY!!!! Use the natural lump charcoal if you can find it.

I vote gas too - for convenience. I find I use it more than I would have the time to do the charcoal thing. And, I make a mean steak - can't imagine it being any better if I'd spent the extra half hour getting charcoal to the right conditions.
I think you can get a grill that does both. If you have a lot of cooking to do you start with the gas and let it heat your coals.
Week-Gas
Weekend-Charcoal / Actually I don't use charcoal. I use hickory or mesquite wood chunks fired up in a chimney.
and the George Foreman rotisserie does a dang good job on a rib roast (I did one today)
As I was fixing my fence late yesterday afternoon, my neighbor was BBQ-ing something upwind of me and this thought jumped into my head. Could it be that when they performed burnt offerings in the Old Testament they were really having a BBQ? If I were a God, that would definitly be appeasing to me. Well, we do know this - they used wood and not charcoal or gas!

We had a birthday party at our house for our friends' two 3-year-old twins. They brought chicken thighs. Unfortunately the thighs were frozen. Why do these people always do this to me?
I tried a new recipe with store bought stuff. I thought it would suck but I had the stuff and tried it anyway.
I set up the gas grill, cleaned the grate, lubed the grate with olive oil.
Then I dipped the chicken thighs in olive oild and dusted them with "Char Crust" seasoning. I think it was salt and pepper and some other stuff. I should check the ingredient list on the label.
I set the thighs up on the top rack because I knew I'd have to leave them in there for a while because they were frozen and I didn't want them to burn. I left them in there probably 30 minutes with the grill on just under high, flipping and moving them every so often.
Near the end I drizzled some rasperry chipotle sauce on them. This sounded a little she-she-fou-fou but I did it anyway because I had the stuff.
Not one complaint. I had one guy say that he doesn't really like chicken and he loved the thighs. I ate two myself.
