    Saturday Scrimmage

Is there anyone in the know who can confirm that the scrimmage this Saturday is open to the public? I am hearing that it is NOT open to the public ... (even though the Spring Practice Schedule states "Open Scrimmage at Joe Aillet Stadium at 1:00 PM). I don't want to drive in from Dallas just to get run off!

The spring prospectus on latechsports.com says that it is open to the public. If not, I would assume that there would have to be some kind of public announcement of said change.

everything i have been told is that it is open.

you can always call 318-257-4111 and ask for the fieldhouse, surely someone over there can tell you for sure. maybe ask for Dooley himself.

I was a little bit of it after Big Event. Saw Brian Jackson made an AMAZING one-handed leaping catch. Anyone else have info on what went down after the first TD? I saw PJ ran good breaking tackles for the score and William Griffin was getting some time atleast early at fullback.

    Danna looked bad.
    Jenkins looked okay.
Mosley made a few bad passes..a few good passes.
His decisions aren't that impressive, but his arm can make up for them.
    Champion looked decent..
I think Mosley and Champion are about equal as of now, but Mosley is more of a playmaker. I like that.
Our offense really didn't impress me..even though Brian Jackson made some good catches.
    Running game looked worse..
    Morris had a good catch/run.
Defense looks better than last year..
Baker had a pick, Deon Young had a pick.
Defense is more intense than last year.
Horwedel missed about 5 FG's in a row.

They could be asleep and be more intense than last year.

How was the line? I'm concerned if our RBs looked bad. Of course, this could be saying VERY good things about our defense.

Don't we learn every year how D tends to look better in the spring (for many reasons).

It was kind of hard to tell if the D line was really good or if the line was really bad. I'd have to say it was a little bit of both. PJ had a good run and so did #27 (nice stiff arm). Other than that, the running game didn't look so good. The D line also got pressure on the QB's a lot..but mainly on Danna. He probably got sacked 4 times, and a couple times got hit and had to throw the ball away.

I was really impressed because before every play the defense was yelling at each other, trying to pump each other up.

On top of whatever we learn every year, EVERYONE on the offense is learning a totally new scheme. Of course, so is the defense, but the D seems to be able to pick it up quicker.
