Game over. It's Christmas in April for Hawaii.
That was a tough one to listen to at the end. I still have hope for taking the series (2 out of 3 is better than nothing). Let's put it to these boys on the island. I'll be listening again tomorrow night. I'll sleep when I'm dead.
it was very ugly...jones should've ate the ball and the game would've been tied...Sr's aren't always in charge!! great game Rike...better luck tomorrow guys..kick butt!!!
Looks like we had a couple of major base running errors. Looks like it would have been a great game to be at. I have a feeling we are going to pound them in game 2. Come on Dawgs

The WAC tv streaming video was pretty decent and it appeared they had the television feed. Here are a few observations from watching the game until 2:45 am. Luke had an early season flashback.....he was overthrowing his fastball, getting behind in the counts so that the Hawaii players could sit on his fastball when he had to throw a strike. He couldn't throw his breaking pitches for strikes and rarely threw a change-up.The score could've been much worse.....Hawaii had lots of baserunners and kept everyone on pins and needles for most of the game.Hudson appeared to have the game in hand but was pulled after giving up three straight singles.Lorio appeared to have us out of the jam but booted a come-backer to the mound that would've preserved the 4-3 lead. Courtney had absolutely no chance to throw out the runner and should've eaten the ball with only the tying run plated. In Courtney's defense after twice failing to bring in runners in scoring position.....the so-called strike-out looking in the 6th inning was pitifull. The ball was 8"-10" outside and not even close to being a strike. That same home plate umpire made another bad call in the 3rd inning when he called Grunenwald out trying to steal home. The umpire was shielded from the attempted tag by the catcher and didn't see Grunenwald avoid the tag. They replayed it several times and the announcers agreed that he was safe. Oh well, today's another day and we can still take this series. When our pitching is on......we will win. Come on Rupert.......you can do it !
Tech still had their chances to blow this game wide open in the 6th and 7th...
6th inning they get back to back singles to start the inning, then the next three batters go down leaving the runners completely stranded...
Then in the 7th they get back to back singles and a walk loading the bases with no outs, and the top of the lineup coming up...even though they got 2 runs out of it, they could have done a lot more damage...one run was scored on a wild pitch and the other a sac fly I believe...
Hope the Dawgs can get their heads together and pull out these last two...
Your're right....and sadly, Lorio was not backing up the throw to home That field is like playing on a parking lot and wild throws usually end up a fiasco. If Albie would've dropped down like a catcher to block that side-arm throw by Courtney, only 1 run would've scored. Woulda,coulda,shoulda.....we can't go back and fix it so lets come out today and crush the Bows.
KDawg.....the WACTv streaming video is definitely worrth the money and the picture is reasonably clear the majority of the time. They use several cameras so it is like watching a tv broadcast ( I think they use the tv feed) The closeups and replays are an added touch. I wish all conference away games were video streamed. I'll get alittle power nap today and be ready for tonights 11:30pm start.
The second game didn't start out right.
