They were getting him in school the day of the press conf.
I am not doubting that these are Richard's guys, but Clark isn't. I don't see the rest of Richard's guys. And this list was blank not long after Richard's firing. I have been checking it periodically and a couple of these guys were added after Clark was added. But I don't know for sure, which is why I was asking.
7 feet blah. Just see if the Jazz will let us borrow Millsap for a couple of years.
This should clear all of the confusion.
1. Lathan and 2.Mims are the Richard signees that are still coming. Tims, Cseh, Greer, and Britt are not coming. Parker was an 08 commit (not likely to come)
3. Clark and 4. Wright have been the only Rupp signees announced so far.
Credit Clark to Rennie and Wright to Nikita as they were both players the assistants were recruiting at their former jobs.
Add 5. Rolle as a transfer and you have five scholarships filled.

We'll still be rather small inside this year with Rolle having to sit out, but in '08 we could FINALLY have a decent sized team again to make some national noise in the NCAA tournament. I'd love to sign that elusive 7' European center we keep hearing about for the below frontcourt. This is the kind of size we had when Malone's teams were so dominating in the 1980's.
C Rolle 6'10"
C European 7'0"
F Rogers 6'7"
F Mims 6'9"
F Wright 6'7"
F Morgan 6'6"
Where are you getting 1 & 2 from? Apparently, Rupp has not made any public comments on any of the previous signees. I did see where he stated that we had an unnamed 6'9" "walk-on" coming from Shreveport. That's why I questioned if Mims was actually on scholarship. He clearly appears to be coming, as he was at the Malone press conference.
As far as Lathan goes, I have not seen anything published as to his status. Do you have any inside info on these two guys?
We want Rolle to play C next year so Storm Warren can come in and start at the 4 from day one. Put those guys out on the floor and you have something. Warren is probably out of reach but it sure would be nice to land him.
we are taller for sure already, we do still need one more center, hopefully this Euro guy comes through.
this year:
C Rolle 6'10" (will sit out)
C European 7'0" (or 6-10 or 6-11, cant be picky)
C Mims 6'9"
F Smith 6'7"
F Rogers 6'7"
F 6'8" walkon from Shreveport
F Wright 6'7"
F Morgan 6'6"
G Gipson 6'4"
G Lathan 6'4" or
G Jackson 6'4"
G Washington 6'2"
G Clark 6'0"
the following year we could hopefully replace smith with someone a little taller and more athletic and hopefully get that 13th spot back to add depth and go after the best player available.
I follow S'port HS bball very closely and I don't know of any big guy that could walk on at Tech besides Mims. Does anyone know who he is talking about if not Mims?
There was not another kid in s'port that was anywhere closed to that size in hs bball. If he was talking about someone else it has to be someone who didn't play last year. I just talked to a hs bball coach in s'port and he said Mims is the only player that big anywhere near s'port.
i have no idea who it is. just by using google, i came up with a real big kid, maybe he added an inch or two:
