I'm glad somebody is finally asking when Louisiana is going to use some of their "surplus funds" that the legislature is wildly salivating over while the governor wants federal help for Road Home money. I'm sick of us holding out our hand all of the time and thinking any state money is for us to on other stuff. I guess the feds are just supposed to be our insurance policy for all disasters. It is humiliating. I've been embarassed by this rampant attitude from the start. And, we wonder why people are expecting the state or feds to bail them out. The state government has modelled it for them!

Its almost like a teenager wanting mom and dad to pay for special clothes or shoes when they've got the money to buy it. I grew out of that, but the state hasn't. I considered my money - my money - not for necessities. My parents were supposed to buy that stuff. I grew out of that about 15, but guess lots of folks haven't. When will we start looking in the mirror to solve our problems?!?!
