White House considering executive action to prevent family separations at border

    "
Sources told Fox News that such an executive action by Trump could be seen to run afoul of the 1997 order and would likely draw a lawsuit. But the White House wants to try to take steps to uphold the enforcement of the law, while at the same time lessening the trauma of children being separated from their parents."

How did they afford to get all the way from Nicaragua or Honduras? Did they walk and not eat for weeks/months? If Mexico is providing free transportation then they can spring for the DNA test. There is always a reason for why someone can’t do something. I need to go on disability because I can’t do the exact same work I was doing before I had surgery. I need help getting a job or getting into school because my grades/education/experience/accomplishments aren’t good enough to get me there. I’m not saying I have the solutions for all of this, but at some point people have to do their part as best they can. If they don’t have the money but they want to come here, then get a work visa, figure out a way for us to keep tabs on you so you can’t disappear, and pay the US back for the process and time it takes for them to verify your status and approve your relocation.

Yep. The administration line that their hands are tied is BS. They have chosen to implement this policy the way that they have. I hope they do take steps to fix the current problem, but this problem is one of their own making. They are using it to push the dems to act...or highlight their refusal to act. I'm not sure which.

Regardless, it was a MAJOR miscalculation. Not surprising when you entrust a 32 year old with incredibly questionable judgment to establish your immigration policy.

I just told you, I don’t have the answer. I pay taxes and people are elected to make these decisions. In theory, those folks are supposed to be smarter or at least more experienced and be able to figure this crap out. I was raised that you pay for things or give your word that you will work off a debt, then follow through.

Fox runs stories about illegals committing heinous crimes (something they do a slower pace than the average American citizen) and MSNBC says Corey Lewandowski was making fun of a child with downs syndrome (he was being an asshole, but he wasn't making fun of the child).

So, until I see numbers that compel me that the problem is costly enough to justify the incredibly costly solutions being offered, I maintain that these are just political gamesmanship by two parties that want power more than they want anything else.

When they start damaging children in their quest for power (which both sides do), I'm done and I'll call them out at every opportunity. The right was very effective in calling out Obama and Clinton (and to a lesser extent, GWB). What I've seen since DT rose to power is that the right has just as many hypocrites as the left and POWER is prize...they'll take it however they can get it.
On your point about illegals committing crime at a lower clip than our legal population? How can you get any higher than 100% when they get here illegally? Why do we have to be okay with crimes committed by people who are already here illegally just because the percentages are lower? I will give you that legal immigrants probably commit crime at a lower rate because they are afraid of messing up and being deported. I don’t know that for fact, but it seems logical. I am not okay with anyone committing damaging crimes, so explain why I should be okay with illegals doing it?

I said violent crime. I don't really care what you're okay with or what you're opposed to. I'm saying that these folks have been called dangerous so that you would be scared and you support their position and they lied to you. You should just be aware of that.

How do you define "damaging crimes" in relation to illegal immigration?

I am aware that anything can be twisted to convey a desired message. Which is why I give about as much credibility to any news broadcast as I give to a coach when asked the question....”Are you interviewing for other jobs or are you happy in Ruston?

I’m not getting that technical with this. It was word I used, but I didn’t consult Webster before I typed it.
