So...it begs the question, who could possibly be afraid to answer the citizenship question? Can someone help me here? I can't think of a single legit person who should fear that question.

This is the best article I've read on the three shithole countries known as the northern triangle Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...ourages-exodus They are in the business of exporting their people so they can come here and work and send the money back to their relatives. The leaders of these 3 countries are actually making money by exporting their people to Mexico and the US to work.

None of the money that we send to these countries as aid actually reaches the people. The 3 countries are truly shithole countries.

Sounds like there's a business opportunity.

You didn't answer the question...WHO should fear answering the CITIZENSHIP question??

I know you are nothing but a silly lib, but the question (in question) does not mention skin color, religion, or opinion. It says:

ARE YOU A U.S. CITIZEN? Yes or No

Citizens won't have any hesitation answering YES.
Those here LEGALLY, under some kind of visa, can answer NO, but they are okay.
So...who might have some hesitation answering?

Progressives have done a great job at changing the narrative.. They have taken illegal out of the context at all and now say everyone is against immigration. I would bet 90% are for legal immigration and against illegal immigration. You will still have nut jobs with that last 10% on either topic. I don't think anyone in that 90% would care about wrong skin color, religion, etc.

The fact that undocumented immigrants will likely not want to turn in their census with that question is precisely why you can’t use the question. The census is supposed to count undocumented immigrants as well. That is why the Secretary was lying about why it was being included and why he got called out on it. If you don’t want to count undocumented immigrants in the census, amend the Constitution.

    Re: Immigration

Has nothing to do with the Constitution. Actually, Title 13 of the US Code provides for a whopping $100 fine for refusing/neglecting to answer the Census. The Constitution states only that a census is be taken every 10 years and that the Dept of Commerce has sole jurisdiction over it. The citizenship question has been part of the Census in the past. Yes, everyone is to be counted. So, refusals bring a $100 fine. Arrest those refusing and if they are illegals...shoot 'em on the spot, or deport them.

No, here's the REAL truth... Dems/libs plan to create millions of fake Census to tilt House of Reps balance of power even more to the leftist coasts.

“Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed." 14th Amendment.

The government cannot require a person to answer a question that would be an admission of violating the law - that is the 5th Amendment.

That means that the government shouldn’t be asking questions that people won’t answer for 5th Amendment reasons where their refusal to answer will keep them from being counted for apportionment reasons under the 14th Amendment.

I think that is as good and succinct an argument against including the citizenship question as I have seen.

Is the proposed question asking if they are a legal citizen or just if they are a citizen? If they are just asking if the person is a citizen, that would not be admitting to violating the law. Being a non citizen is not illegal.

The problem in this case was that the evidence suggested that the addition of the question to the census was driven by a Republican strategy to discourage non-citizen participation in the census. Even John Roberts was not satisfied with the truthfulness of the Administration on this point.

Asian countries have been doing this for decades. India & Philippines in particular. Their chief export is their labor force. What of it? Why the outrage now?

Restricting the free exchange of good, services, and labor is anti-capitalism.
