I don't think GWB, Clinton, or Obama are models of what conservatism from the chief executive should be. That said, I think y'all are discounting the "optics" of the Trump presidency. He's not winning anyone over.
I'm all about breaking up the two party system, but if our side breaks before theirs, we're screwed. If the right splinters before the left, the left will have at least a decade of victories. I think Trump is helping to solidify that.
I certainly hope I'm wrong.
