Since everyone with a heart agrees the Dreamers should be allowed to stay, why not go ahead and fix that before any more people needlessly have to suffer? Then move on to comprehensive immigration reform.

Something people agree on is not a real bargaining chip. A negotiation requires both parties to give and take. If there is agreement that the Dreamers should stay, they shouldn’t be used as leverage....unless Trump is lying and doesn’t actually care about them.

This is the absolute truth. Hispanics from south of the border are some of the hardest workers in America. They were a big part of what rebuilt New Orleans after Katrina.

I have no issues with thousands more joining our population. I just want to make sure we're getting people that want to be here and respect our laws and not drug gang members or people that get deported multiple times only to return and break our laws.

Great points. The DACA deadline is in March, and nobody is talking about any kind of deportations except the Democrats.

I don't even care if the government shuts down. A bill should be passed that pays the military. A bill should be passed that pays the border control agents.

Then we will see just how non-essential everyone else really is. This may just show us where we can start cutting back and getting our fiscal house in order.
