Yes, well under 800K. It's a shame the socialist democrats will not be willing to allow these guys in w/out allowing those who fall under what they want DACA to become which is well over 800K. The master of bargaining threw 1.5M at them just to blow their minds. Gotta love that!

Republicans have full control. If they can’t find a way to help DACA dreamers out, Americans will know it is because Republicans are anti immigrant.

They are anti ILLEGAL immigrant, a position taken by Chuck and Nancy and Hillary in the past as well.

Every country controls who comes in their country. You have spouted a dem talking point, and it is not true.

However, it is that kind of partisan attack (which has no basis in fact) that will result in a reply like "dems are for as many innocent Americans being killed by gang members that are in the country illegally".

    See how it works?

    Re: Immigration

Doing something to resolve the "dreamers'" issue won't happen by March 5th....if ever. Even though Trump has gone too far in his proposal (citizenship for 1.8 million in 12 years) the 'craps are not interested in a deal. They do NOT want to settle this matter. Not before the 2018 midterm elections for sure, and maybe not even after that. The "dreamers" hanging in limbo is too powerful of a political weapon for them. Of course, Trump could flip the tables on 'em.

And, this deal is DOA because of the stubborn ones on the other side. Last night Ted Cruz said no way, no how to "citizenship" for the dreamers. He was very upset with Trump for making that proposal. Cruz supports "legalization" of the dreamers, but not citizenship.

So, I guess on March 6th say bye bye to the dreamers. They'll all be deported. Adios amigos!

The 'craps and the extreme right own this, or will. Trump "trumped" both groups last night.

Back in September Trump undid the illegal, unconstitutional executive order of obummer's re: the dreamers. Trump used his own EO to retire obummer's. That's the danger of relying on EO's, the next guy can make them go away with a stroke of the pen. Trump and/or Congress then set the March 5th target date for Congress to do something about DACA. Both sides of the aisle have had 6 months to pass legislation.

The default position, if Congress fails to deliver, is deportation. So, doing nothing signs the travel slips for the dreamers. Trump knew this would happen when he issued his EO. He's the smartest person in the room....and over-whelmingly so, when in the same room as Pelosi, Schumer, et al. Last night, in plain sight of millions of Americans, Trump proposed his citizenship plan. I don't agree with the 1.8 million number, though I have no problem with some path to citizenship for the up to 800K DACA. Regardless, the nation knows what Trump proposed and what he will sign into law. Whether you agree, or don't (like Ted Cruz) Trump put his cards on the table. If the 'craps circle the wagons and vote 100% for some proposal, and if it's Cruz and the others who block it (fail to reach 60 votes) then the blame for the dreamers' deportations will fall on those extreme rightwing congresspersons. It won't be Trump getting blamed.

The Socialist Dems will never agree to Trumps tabled offer last night, which is better than Obama's effort and better than originally asked for by the libs. Libs lose period!! Trump and the ultra right win either way and he will still find a way to fund the wall if the Dems turn his offer down!

Well, yeah, if the 'craps refuse to vote for some bill to settle the DACA issue then yes, they'll shoulder the blame. But, I was saying IF they do vote for a bill....like Trump's proposal of a path to citizenship...then Ted Cruz and several other Repubs will NOT vote for it and possibly block its passage. If that happens then they will get blamed.

I like Ted Cruz....I voted for him in the Louisiana primary in 2016...and I want him to remain a force in the Senate. And for that reason, I advise him to be very careful in this matter. Choose your battles. Is it really such a horrible thing for the "dreamers" to be offered a path to citizenship? It's not a guarantee to citizenship, and it won't happen over night. But those who do qualify...fine! Welcome to America.

Trump will settle this Dreamers crap one way or the other. If the Dems won't agree to the principals Trump has outlined, the Dreamers will no longer be protected after March 2018.. They can then be rounded up when they screw up and deported!!!

Hard to understand why this topic is so difficult to discuss. Seems cut and dry to me.
