And where else in the WORLD can you get the DELICIOUS pulled pork & cheese on a sourdough bun? Or, a full sausage heaped with cheese on a sourdough whole wheat bun? Or, a delicious ham & cheese on a big, warm sourdough bun? Or, a beautiful brisket & cheese on a sourdough bun? Or, a HUGE pile of the BEST RIBS in the United States & Canada? I KNOW Reno & Reno has nothing on DOWLING'S of Ruston!!

As far as I know, the Scatterload is only found at Dowlings. This is the best thing between bread. Anyone making the trip to Ruston owes it to themselves to give this a try.

Ruston has some other great restaurants in Ponchatoulas and Rabbs. Monjunis is also pretty good. It would be a mistake to believe anyone would have to drive to Shreveport or Monroe to eat (however, if they do, there are places to eat there too).

And yet after all the sporting events... you and your crew go to Chili's everytime. :icon_wink:

I have been to Nevada MANY times--most often to Reno--and let's just say that I'll take Ruston ANY day of the week! Reno is not exactly the showplace of the Western world.

As for the WAC tournament, I plan to be there, supporting our Bulldogs. And, if the visitors behave nicely, I might just give them directions to Dowling's.

Don't forget Griffs, Bea's, and Blue Light Cafe.

Of course, why hasn't someone reopened El Taco Grande (aka the Grunge)?

Griffs and BLC are both outstanding, but please don't tell me that I went to Tech for five years and missed a great restaurant in Bea's? I've never heard of this place, what are they about?

They all have packets, flyers, coupons and all work together with the State Office of Tourism.
The word that Ruston-Lincoln is being a part of the initial effort is a plus. Their follow-through will be crucial however.

While in a hotel with my family, I discovered a tourism packet in the room. I don't know if this is what you were talking about, but this one would have worked great. Now that we have these, we just need to send them to the other schools.

But, you were definitely correct. These packets do exist.
