You put your time in and then retire. I will have 30 years in a week and would be retiring except for the fact that I have not yet finished DROP. Plus since I am sick, I am using sick leave that I have built up over the years. There are alot of other good people who are really close to retirement, but they will find other good Tech people to take their place. Life goes on.

I will have 30 years August 22 but I signed up for 3 years in the drop. After that it will be day to day.

Baby Boomer's, every business is having to deal with this, there will be a huge deficit when the Boomer's start retiring in mass numbers. Just look at hiring numbers for the past 4 years company's new hires have been on the rise in record numbers and they are predicting every year that it's not going to slow down.
