Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”
does anyone know a doctor who can tell my wife it's ok for pregnant women to clean toilets, but unsafe for expecting fathers?
From the parking lot of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo you can see one of the best modern art museums in America.
I really like living here.
I wish there was a day where all incoming football players announced where they were going to play.
Today I judged a middle school / high school science fair. I have a few observations.
1) High school kids are lazy and put almost zero effort into science fair projects.
2) Teachers (judges) don't know what "statistical analysis" means and are impressed by the words "standard deviation," prefer "mean" rather than "average," and like to see units in percentages. If you actually TELL a teacher that you don't think she knows what "statistical analysis" means, she gets mad at you.
3) Teachers (judges) don't understand the science projects and value quantity of work over quality.
4) Some kids can thoroughly discuss methods to measure relative oxygen levels in different locations by measuring the growth of rust on iron while other kids think that car exhaust is more dense than water. Some kids measure the absorbtion of nitrates by different plants while other kids ran an experiment to prove that if you put rocks in a funnel and pour water in, all of the water passes through the rocks.
5) If you water a plant with microwaved distilled water, it will die in two weeks. If you boil the distilled water, it will lower growth.
6) If you ask a kid a hard question, teachers (judges) will complain EVEN IF the kid gets it right. If you compliment a kid, those same teachers will complain again because other students with projects didn't also receive a compliment from you.
The student that performed this experiment cost herself the chance to move on to the next level of competition by telling a different judge that the reason the microwaved water killed the plants is because microwaving the water changed the water's DNA and that it was no longer healthy for the plant.
I shouldn't have to ask for salt, pepper, ketchup and napkins when I go thru the drive thru at Burger King, McD's, Sonic, --- insert name of fast food restaurant ---
And when I do ask for condiments, the server shouldn't roll his/her eyes...
Also... it would be nice to be thanked for my patronage at any retail store.
This seems to be the norm...
