Yes, I think they have a long term plan to tear it down too. I know alot of people love F. Jay but alot of the buildings he had built are crap (Kidd-gone, Caruthers, Neilson, Harper-Going, Wyly-Major Remodeling)
Harper, I had some good times there. Along with Dudley and Pierce.
I believe LUM said it best...Tech hates money.
I can't tell you how many cheerleaders I've talked to who swore up and down that they would never go to Tech because we put them up in Neilson for their camps.

Yeah I think she's pretty down on Tech.
I have a friend whos daughter is with the west monroe group at the camps this week. Already they've shown up and somehow weren't registered, then they appearently were sent to one dorm only to be told that wasn't where they were supposed to be and then they were sent to Mitchell. This girl used to be all about tech when she was younger but now due to what she's experienced, staying in our extremely out dated dorms and such, and seeing the new construction on ulms campus, she is headed to ulm in two years for nursing. This is a girl and a family that used to hate nlu.
Things are changing at Tech. We are investing in new housing. Univ Park has been a very nice addition to our campus.
I wondered if they would even be considered as housing for camps due to the fact all apartments are accessible from the outside. seems there might be saftey concerns dealing with that. I think its a great idea for housing for college students, i like them TONS more than the "motel 8's" at ulm, but for "campers" of all ages dont know if its the best idea.
are they eventually going to all apartments?
they might think about investing in a couple of nice freshmen dorms for the reason you just talked about. just dont make any more highrises.
The thing is even if they did give these girls nice dorms they tear them up, along with the Christian summer camps that come in. They do more damage to the dorm in 1-2 weeks than college students do all year. As far as the not being registered that's a mistake on UCA/UDA's part they were probably sent to different dorms because UCA/UDA didn't tell Tech they were coming and they had to scramble to get them fit in. And when the kids are in the smaller dorms I never heard any complaints.
