    Church camp

Didn't know Tech hosted this. The kids in our camp go to Shocco Springs, AL. I was looking on the website and saw this. This is a good thing.

I have students here in Cedar Hill, TX that go to church camp at Tech every year. They tell me it's great. Of course what's not to like about Tech?

When did Tomlin lead worship? Can you get into the worship service if you are just an old fart that lives in town?

yeah, I'm pretty sure you can. I met my sister-in-law and went in with her. You can get a list of their worship leaders at their website (I think it's studentlife.net). Not sure who'll be in Ruston this year.

When we saw Tomlin I think it was the summer of 04.

I actually saw Chris Tomlin perform last night in his home town of Grand Saline, Texas. It was a free concert at the Salt Festival, in downtown Grand Saline, so we brought our college kids from our church here in Tyler. All I can say is AWESOME!!!!

Not only do we get top quality young people coming to Tech, but also it keeps a number of people employed for the summer. Many of the food service personnel that would normally be laid off during the summer are able to keep working. It is also a big money-maker for food service and housing. It has been a lifesaver during some of our critical financial times.

I believe that this group use to go to Northwestern, but for some reason NSU did not want them any more. Not a smart thing for Northwestern, but a great thing for Tech.

I am jealous. I heard about it yesterday on the radio that he would be there. I am sure it was good - he is very talented.

He is definately one of the most gifted worship leaders you will ever find. I've seen him a couple of times live. I had no idea he had ever played in Ruston or I would have been there.
