There are a few things the article doesn't say. My sister-in-law taught at Troy St when they began to move up the ladder in Divisions. First Troy St. started raiding the academic budgets from nearly all departments, many were already on a shoestring budget. When ththere still wasn't enough money for football, they just literally killed academic departments and any money they had remaining went into the athletic department for funding football. Interestingly enough though, the wife of the President of the University bought an english telephone booth and had it shipped to the US for a round sum of $20K using school money at the same time they were raiding the academic side. I am glad they are using sponsers now, but they certainly didn't start that way.
Isn't Troy now something like the university of phoenix?
What, you mean a brick-and-mortar university that figured out that in order to survive in the 21st century you need to utilize the media of the day, such as the internet?
I've done degrees both ways ("traditionally" and online) and I can tell you there isn't necessarily anything magical about being on-campus.
you need to see troy's football, baseball and track stadums i saw them back about three weeks ago very very nice on a level we need to be on much above where we are now press box score board new football dressing room all appear to be first class
