    There is clearly a difference in the force required for a specified displacement. While your mouth does the same motion, there is more strength required per chew. But! I agree that since Starburt is safe for normal people, people with special conditions should take care. As soon as you put the starburst in your hand, you know how difficult it is to chew.

    How many chews did she make before she had the problem? Did it happen on the first chew? Because after one chew she should have know the darn thing is "chewy."

    They should be careful and not force society to idiot proof everything. If I had that particular problem I wouldn't be eating anything but hard candy.
