    Help in Memphis

My wife and I are leaving for Memphis today for 5 days, what should we not miss while in town? We'll be heading home on the 4th.

We're going to do Graceland, and take a cab down to Beale, so we don't have to drive back. We'll probably hit the zoo too, but other than that, have no real plans.

    Thanks

The Pink Palace is OK and it has an IMAX if you are into that. The casinos in Tunica aren't that far away and are much nicer than going to Shreveport. Shelby Farms is a good place to go if you are into running or exercising. Bosco's in midtown is a pretty cool restaurant/brewery type of place. Mud Island is ok, has a scale replica of the Mississippi river complete with all the towns/cities along its banks. Huge Wolfechase mall off of I-40/Germantown rd. Gibson factory and museum is downtown along with the civil rights museum. Also the Peabody is pretty cool to see if you've never been there before.

hope this gives you a few ideas anyway. Memphis is a great place, just don't stay too long downtown after dark if you know what I mean.

Try Central BBQ and if you want to see a baseball game, AutoZone park is a very very nice field. It is in downtown across from the Peabody Hotel.

Silky supports our Tech alumni group.

    Re: Help in Memphis

Thanks for all the suggestions! We've done Graceland, Mud Island, and been down Beale St. a couple times. We're probably taking a cab to Beale tonight, so I don't have to drive back. The fireworks at Tom Lee were the best we've seen. Our anniversary is the 3rd. We're hitting a different state every year. Already done Louisiana, Texas (Dallas & Houston) and Missouri. So far, Memphis has the best celebration. We've got one more day, we'll probably do the zoo and pink palace.
