Looks good on paper, but no rivalries and ludicrous travel demands make this league the ultimate sell-out for Tech. -- Letlow

The travel expenses alone eats up most of that check. For that reason I say no. It's not worth it. Money is not the issue here though. If it was, you would schedule ULM and ULL on a home and home bases every year. Renew the interest for the FANS. You'll make the same money and have only a fraction of the travel expense. -- Soignier

They are obviously unaware of 2 things:

#1 Travel costs in the Belt aren't even close to as low as they think. A conference that stretches from Miami to Denver is hardly ideal.

#2 The extreme lack of revenue the Sunbelt conference produces. It's pathetic.

For the time being we are better off where we are. I might not say that 5 years from now or even 1 year from now. But right now we are doing the best we can conference wise.


It' sad when local reporters are uninformed. I mean it's their job to know these things. Give me a break.

The fact is that we are in the #1 conference outside of the bcs theives. We are in a GREAT conference. All that you see in dialogue like that is jealousy. Why should we step back because some idiots don't understand and want us to slow down and wait for others.

I would love to be in a more regional conference, but until CUSA is an option, I don't want to be anywhere else. CUSA is a step down, but it is a geographic fit for us.

AND, I will say that next year, as well.

I found the numbers posted by RealityCheck from '04-'05 released in Jan. of '06. I could not find a posting for '05-'06. I would provide a link, but they were provided by RC in the recruiting forum. RC have you posted the more recent numbers?
