    Recommendations?

This weekend I did something I promised myself I would NEVER do - I paid more than $100 for a GAME SYSTEM! ! We are now proud owners of a Wii. The kids love it and I have to say it is pretty addictive. To tell you how adament I was about this, I have an N64 that I didn't get until they almost weren't making games for them any more!!!

So, we've got Wii Sports . . . What do y'all recommend we get next? It needs to be something the family can enjoy (kids are 6 & 8). And is there any games I need to get that might be more to my liking than the rest of the family?

Do you like sports games? Madden is pretty cool if you do because it's got one feature that you can play with 4 players and play 2 on 2 or 2 on 1 plus computer or 1 and computer v. the computer 2. As far as games for family, I thought i was buying one of those when I bought Mario because I saw a commercial for this one game that looked like my 4 year old could play. The kid working at Target told me it was Mario. It turns out, it isn't Mario. Anyway, I haven't had the money to go back and look for another game, yet. Maybe you can check with the people at the store.

You cannot go wrong with games such as Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Rayman: Raving Rabbids and Mario Party 8 if you are looking for really fun, pick-up-and-play family games.

For single player action, Super Paper Mario is a FANTASTIC game. However, it's very text-heavy. Too text-intensive for a 6 or 8 year old, I'm afraid.

A plethora of fantastic titles are coming out soon. You're going to want to pick up Metroid, Super Smash Bros: Brawl, and Super Mario Galaxy when they come out before the end of the year. Hope this helps.

Madden and Tiger Woods are also a ton of fun. Hope this helps.

Oh, and if you're in the market for another controller, go ahead and put down the 50 bucks to buy Wii Play. You get another Wii Sports-type title, along with a "free" controller (you're essentially paying 10 bucks for the game). It's worth it.

Thanks for the recommendations! We did pick up Wii Play as well as a second Nunchuck. My 6 year old and I have gone round for round boxing each other (pardon the pun)!

    Keep 'em coming!

    Re: Recommendations?

Just bought Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition and it's AWWEEEESOME.

Not for the kids, of course, but a great game. Can't beat it's 30 dollar price tag, either.
