Are there any good Bed and Breakfast places in Ruston?
Are there any good Bed and Breakfast places in Ruston?
I don't think there are any. The one on North Trenton closed years ago. Ruston does seem like it would be a good spot for several since it has visiting parents, alumni, professors, etc. that all get tired of the chain hotel scene.
I just bought a townhouse up there to get out of that loop. A good B&B would have made me postpone that move.
This place is great, it takes about 15 minutes to get there from Ruston:

I'd recommend the Wilkerson's for breakfast. Not so much for bed unless you bring your own air mattress, but Vettesis can make some awesome pancakes and sausage. It's about the only place I'll eat breakfast.
I'll make you a good deal on my in-laws spare bedroom, can't recommend the breakfast though.
If your avatar is coming with you I will rent you my house! Cheap, too.
Not a B&B and a litttle out of the way but if you have a small group or family you might consider staying at the cabins at Lake D'arbonne State Park. Nice, with lots of room with full kitchens. Plenty of space for kids. We have had family reunions there.
I have seen a place advertised in the Ruston Daily Leader called "The Dove House."
Here is the link to it:

I ate at the Dove House the last time I was home. ABSOLUTLEY WONDERFUL! The house is really nice and they have done a great job making it very inviting. A friend of mine from high school is the chef. Some of you might know her - Jamie Colvin. Her Dad has Colvin Realty in Ruston.
I would absolutely recommend this place. You won't regret the food and service. Haven't stayed there, but got the full tour by the owner and it is fantastic.
Does anybody know how much the rates are at the Creekwood gardens? It doesn't list any prices on the web site.
