Here is a map I found dating back to the Civil War. If you zoom in, you will see a "Trent's Lan." I assume that this is Trent's Landing. It looks like it would in northern current West Monroe.

Not to split hairs but there is a "lake" -- the Ouachita River.
And, there is a new riverport on the West Monroe side of the river, which in the very near future will be the center of one of the top economic developments.
Hey, I don't have a dog in the hunt, I don't live in the city limits of West Monroe and neither do many of the concerned posters on this thread.
What I admire about the West Monroe/West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce is they are asking the city's voters to settle this long-time topic once and for all.
