Man. It was 68 degrees this morning when I took the dog out. I don't ever remember it being that cool in the morning this late in July.

I've been thinking the same thing up here in Monroe, and Ft. Worth where I've been working. It hasn't felt like summer yet.
I know, it felt like fall this morning. While we've been enjoying temps in the 80's my brothers in Montana have been baking in 100+ temps all summer.
I've noticed that. And other places, too. I always wonder why it can be cool, at times, in places like here where it's normally hot as the dickens and hot in other places where it's normally cooler. I remember going to a convention in Chicago back in the late 80's. The temperatures hovered around 100 degrees all week, and really that whole summer. It was unreal. It was hotter up there than it was down here. In fact, I think it set some records or came close to it.
It's due to global warming . . . uh, cooling . . . uh, something.:icon_wink:
Go Tech!
What's more is no one predicted this wetter/cooler than usual summer either. Hmmmmm, the same folks that claim they "know" what the global climate will do 30, 50, 100 years from now missed this summer's weather prediction..... Can their other predictions be trusted?
That reminds of this woman I used to work on the same shift with when I worked shift work. It never failed that on our last night working, when it came close to shift relief, she would always proclaim that her relief was either going to be late or call in which would mean that she would have to hang over. This would always get her going into a cursing/complaining tirade. Then about the time she would calm down, the phone would ring and get her going again. It wouldn't be the guy calling in. Then finally, about 3 or 4 months after the complaining, he would call saying he was going to be late. Then she would proclaim, "See. I told you that #&$%*!@ was going to call in." Well, yeah. It naturally was going to happen if you waited long enough.
I guess if Al Gore throws all the possible outcomes under global warming, he can be safe with his predictions.
It has felt good in Houston. All of the rain has helped out a lot, but it has been pleasant at times to be outside. Of course, if we go a day without rain, then it becomse unbearable once again. I should know, i have walked home many a time in the Galleria area.
Global warming is for real. Has to do with the burning of fossil fuels which creates about 7 gigtons of new atmospheric CO2 every year. The physics of the atmosphere ensures that the global temperature will go up. Now, how that will affect local climates is not known for sure. Higher atmospheric temperatures means that the atmosphere can hold more water vapor which means more intense rainfall.
You youngsters in your 20's and 30's will live long enough to see what global warming is all about.

Yep! They will see a wrecked US economy. They will see a socialist system that attempts to control every aspect of their lives. They will see the US lose its super-power status and as a consequence of that, a lot more world strife. They will see special-interest groups, with government grants, making all kinds of wild claims, that drastically alter their lifestyles.
What they WON"T see, however, is any real change in the climate....
You can blame me -
We are ATTEMPTING to build a house on Lake Claiborne -
Therefore it has been the wettest July on record in the past 30 years in Claiborne Parish....
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
You can blame the Republicans for the wrecked US economy and loss of super-power status.
The folks that live in Alaska have aleady SEEN plenty of climate change so you are talking nonsense.
