"Mr. Rogers Was An Evil, Evil Man"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n44WCUKIK2Y

Now THIS hacks me off enough to start a thread in this neck of the woods. Who has the right to say stuff like this?!

I find it hard to believe that even the staunchest of FNC supporters will find it easy to defend this garbage.

    This man helped millions.

Political spin doctors are responsible for the feeling of entitlement, not Mr. Rogers.

Should I feel doubly offended because it was an LSU professor who did this study and is attacking a fraternity brother??? hmmm...

So blame a dead guy for what the rest of the P.C. world has promoted??? All of a sudden the thinking of the last what, 60+ years (?), is wrong? That what it seems to me...

Wow. What kind of professor was this? This isn't even sound from a psychological perspective.

Self-esteem is a layered thing. The foundation of it has to be what Carl Rogers calls "unconditional positive regard" or what Erik Erickson calls trust. Mr. Rogers was providing unconditional positive regard. You cannot grow a healthy sense of self and a healthy sense of what your own competence is without a foundation that you are worthwhile just because you are a human being.

The great irony of that on-air discussion is that they are bitching about today's young people not taking responsibility for their own actions and blaming it on a TV personality.

I should write a scholarly article about how I lose IQ points every time I watch FNC. I love the Jon Stewart jab at them a few years ago: Not quite news, not quite porn.

This has nothing to do with the FNC! It has everything to do with a study by a probable liberal LSPOO professor that FNC is ONLY reporting. The blame Mr. Rogers/society would be a LIB/DEM stand instead of the accept one's one blame for one's failures conservative stance. Fair and Balanced reporting is what I see.

Wouldn't it be the lib/dem crowd though pushing such a movement??? (Mr. Rogers "society," feel good society, etc.)

C'mon now tyler. I'm a conservative, watch Fox News a LOT, and even I feel like they were endorsing the idea. Sorry, but I'm pretty dizzy after all that spinning. :icon_wink: There is a difference between presenting an idea and endorsing it.
