Waaaaayyyyyyy too much studio/rehearsal time between now and the start of the tour for me to believe it will actually come to fruition. Hint: Don't buy a non-refundable ticket. That said, if they come anywhere near Austin - I'm there.

BTW, EVH has been a permanent fixture in my celebrity dead pool for about ten years now. My man looks like a Peter Jackson creation right about now. I guess he's got a Keith Richards thing going, where the Scotch is keeping him preserved.

There is something special about pre 1984 VAN HALEN....

Under appreciated band - no a hair band, not heavy metal, great stage presence....

Why the hell do you go to Canada in December when you could go to TX or LA instead?

Maybe they're afraid that the warm weather will make Eddie thirsty.

Wow, what a crappy tour. Wonder how they came up with those locations.

Absolutely! I still remember hearing "You Really Got Me" on the radio and having to pick my jaw up off of the floor at the guitar work of Eddie. Once in a generation a gutarist comes along who changes the landscape and he did it for me. I saw them at least three times, all with DLR. Outstanding performance every time!

By the way, I predict they don't make it to Philly before they self destruct...

Yeah back when Eddie and Val were still together they always played S'port. I sat just a few rows back of her on the Diver Down tour. Is this the entire tour or are they going to announce more dates later?

I remember seeing Van Halen years ago in Naw Awlins, in the Superdome. They were the 2nd act on the bill. The 1st act? Why, none other then Sammy Hagar.

    Re: Dave/Halen

I watched the press conference the other day and it does seem like there is a real difference this time. Plus I really think Eddie is in this for Wolfie. I also have to agree that pre 1984 VH was special. They had a nastyness to them that they never had with Sammy. It was a bit too polished with Sam. It's hard to say which of the first 5 albums I liked best but I'm especially fond of Fair Warning.

Fair Warning is an excellent choice. The first two albums were also top notch. Diver Down sucked. And when Dave started doing his own MTV videos, well, that was "jumping the shark." Maybe going with Hagar was what they needed to do to save the band. They did continue to produce some great music.

    Re: Dave/Halen

No doubt they made some great tunes but it just wasn't the VH I loved. Too polished and over produced. They should have kept on Ted Templeman as a producer. Sammy's Montrose records were better examples of his chops. Cue up Rock Candy and crank it up. VH I and II are clasics, there are some great cuts on Women and Children first, Take Your Whiskey Home and Could This Be Magic, aside from the obvious And the Cradle Will Rock are great VH. But for me Mean Streets is the one that all other VH can not hold up to. "Somebody said FAIR WARNING, Lord strike that poor boy down!"

I gotta take back what I said about EVH. Looks like he's cleaned himself up. It's going to be interesting to see if they curb some of their backstage antics with young, impressionable Wolfie hangin' around. I think Bertinelli could put the Ky-Bosh on all this real quick if DLR starts using naked chicks for coffee tables and ash trays again.
