A plan is underway that could possibly smooth out one of the bumpiest roads in Lincoln Parish.

A .35-mile stretch of Tech Drive between Barnett Springs Road and Alabama Avenue could be resurfaced in about a year if a plan hatched by Rep. Hollis Downs comes to fruition.

Downs, R-Ruston, said he was approached by Lincoln Parish Police Juror Mickey Mays about the possibility of using “L-Gap” funding to pay for the resurfacing of the stretch of Tech Drive that runs parallel to Louisiana Tech University’s Memorial Gym. Read More

It is amazing that it is going to take a year just to resolve the ownership question. Anyway, I hope they get this done. Be nice to get it done a lot sooner than that.

Or they might try to do it when students are trying to move into (or out of) all of the dorms in that area. It's all about (in)convenience.

That'll be the day. I'll believe this when I see it. And you're probably right...they'll do it between Sept. and May...they never seem to use the summer when students are away.

I guess we should be thankful for small favors, but they need to start at the interstate and go all the way to Barnett Springs Road. It's nice to know they're even considering doing anything, but don't hold your breath for anything anytime soon.
