Heard about this at the UCA game, apparentley each Freshmen is given a medallion w/ there name on one side and the 12 tenets on the other, they walk to The Lady of the Mist and drop them in. When they graduate at the the medallion is given back to them. Sounds pretty cool can I go back to college now?
What's the other tradition that Dooley spoke of?? I didn't quite get it..... i think i need sleep.
I have a question what do they do to prevent someone from snatching up those medallions in the Lady of the mist?
I don't think they leave them there big guy. I think they are collected after the ceremony.
Plan is to build two columns at the top of the hill at the south endzone. they want to light a fire at the lady of the mist and have the team and band carry it through campus and light two torches on the columns. after the game, take the fire back to the lasdy of the mist because she is the only one who can put out the flame.
something like that anyway.
Even better blue burning Pinecones!
Website has instructions on how to make them or actually any combustible material burn blue.

You know good and well we can make it burn blue, and red!
Yeah but reds not that impressive blue looks cooler.
would like to give a few kudos to Jim Robken for not only preparing the BOP for the UCA and the Hawaii games, but also a wind ensemble (which is not a fall quarter ensemble) for the Freshman convocation; allowing all the BOP rookies to participate in the convocation AND providing a pep band for the reception of the convocation
ALL THIS before the first day of class began
