Who is Louisiana Tech's All Time Leading Scorer?
Who is Louisiana Tech's All Time Leading Scorer?
Possibly Troy Edwards
Quick-Six?
I thought it was Scobee...

- Troy Edwards ~ 57 TDs, 1 two point conversion = 344 points
- Josh Scobee ~ 144 XPs, 65 FGs = 339 points
- Charles McDaniel ~ 52 TDs, 1 two point conversion = 314 points
- Marty Kent ~ 129 XPs, 50 FGs = 279 points
- Matt Stover ~ 70 XPs, 64 FGs = 262 points
- Chris Boniol ~ 107 XPs, 50 FGs = 257 points
- Jerry Pope ~ 128 XPs, 31 FGs = 221 points
- Arry Moody ~ 36 TDs 2 two point conversions = 220 points
- Ryan Moats ~ 30 TDs = 180 points
- Buster Herren ~ 28 TDs = 1 two point conversions = 170 points
I thought it was Scobee also, but a mishap in our SID did not give credit to Troy Edwards for a two point conversion. Four points in Scobee's bowl game, were taken away because they did not count towards official statistics until 2002. Just thought of it as another small time example to honor someone as the All Time Leading Scorer, only to have it adjusted and never told .
Pope was an old school place kicker...probably wore a wrist watch too...
Kent and Edwards were on some of the same teams weren't they? Man, we could put some points on the board during those years.
"Tech kicker Josh Scobee was a bright spot as he became Tech's all-time scoring leader with 343 points after kicking a pair of extra points. Scobee passed former Tech wide receiver Troy Edwards with 342 career points. Scobee also finished as Tech's all-time leader in career field goals made (66), field goals attempted (92), extra points made (145), extra points attempted (153) and 50-yards or more field goals (6)."
Absolutely horrible game, but I remember when he got the record. I'm not accusing anyone of being wrong, but this is who Tech thinks the record holder is.

In the media guide this year it mentions him being in second. When Malcom was contacted about it he mentioned the two point conversion and the bowl games. I think it is crappy to adjust a record after the fact and not notify the fromer players of mistakes and why was it found out recently.

My dad worked with Arry Moody when we came to Ruston in '96. Man he is still a big powerful guy. Nice fella too, anybody ever remember seeing him play.
