RUSTON, La. (AP) - Louisiana Tech finally has a green light for a research park.
The state bond commission approved $13 million in bonds for the project Thursday. A supplemental appropriations bill included $12 million, so the university has all the money it asked for.
University President Dan Reneau says the school already has patent and licensing agreements with local and national companies for spots in the new complex. He says one is a software company.
The park will be a home for companies that want to be affiliated with Tech's expanded research in cyberspace protection, nanotechnology, biomedical engineering and micromanufacturing.
