Cool.
So the new tennis courts are going between the football stadium and track? Will that eliminate the parking there?
I've said it before, and I will say it again...that is a stupid place to put the courts. Think about it, you have the fieldhouse and the practace field now seperated by tennis courts...they will look out of place!Originally Posted by parisdog

Gonna be a tight fit to put the tennis courts between JAS and the Track. I think they should consider building them over the Memorial Gym parking lot (if there's enough room) or left of the softball field possible with a dressing room/office facility. The facility could be used both by the tennis team and softball.
Can we take 100 bucks out of this and PLEASE paint a Louisiana Tech mural on that horrible looking railroad bridge above Tech Dr. ?
It's cheap, simple, and would make a drastic difference.
I can't see this working either. Has anybody seen a drawing of exactly where they are wanting to put the courts?
Trying to figure this out ... They need six courts for a match. It is best if they are either lined up so all six courts are visible from the stands or there are stands between three courts on each side. Perhaps they are going to build stands on the hill going up the hill overlooking six courts lined up. The problem I see with that would be that the courts would be situated east/west, so the sun would be in the eyes of the people on the east half of the courts.
I just don't see what they are trying to do. I would certainly like to see a picture of a plan.
A great boost for the Tech appearance. And did I read that wrong or was this actually a positive article prepared by The News Star???

I believe they are installing 8 courts if I remember right. The tennis court is going to look very out of place... and will be taking away player/player family parking and road access. Possibly taking away the visitor's access point as well.
Have you seen the layout? Are they going four and four or straight across?
No, I haven't seen it... I just vaguely remember an article or two in the Ruston Daily Leader or in the Tech Talk talking about it. Could be wrong about the number, it's been a while. And I just went with what looks the most reasonable way of putting them there. I mean, it is limited space there, so who knows. Maybe it's just going to be six like now.
We have ten now, which is really not enough for a campus of 10,000 people.
