Sure was fun seeing Paul today in person! Pretty crunk crowd, too.
There was probably about 250-300 in the crowd (my estimate) which is good since it was at such late notice. He spoke for about 30 minutes and the crowd would erupt into cheers from time to time. Then everyone had a chance to shake his hand, say hello, pose for a picture, and get an autograph.
What really struck me was the range in age of the people who were there. There were 18 years olds on up to 80 year olds in the crowd. The younger folks were up front while most of the older folks sat in the back. One little old lady had her nurse roll her up to the front in her wheelchair, so she could she Paul and say hello to him. The guy was very friendly when I talked to him. I told him I was from Monroe and attended ULM. I was wearing my Warhawk baseball cap and he commented that he liked the warhawk logo . It was a great experience, and it will be a pleasure to vote for him tomorrow.
The decision to have the thing in Shreveport was made less than a week ago, so they had very little time to put things together. It was also on a cold Monday morning at 10AM. Those who were there either were students on break, retired folks, or people who took off from work......
How many people showed up for the other candidate's speeches in LA?
......oh wait, they all ignored LA except Ron Paul
Don't give up! More support is on the way!
