Well the result isn't really in doubt. Its only a question of whether or not there's going to be a runoff.

Bobby Jindal's going to win. Hovering around 50% right now, with no one else really cracking double digits.

There is a nice write-up about Jindal and the election on national review online.

BTW, when Blanco beat Jindal in 2003, it was at the moment that I decided I could not live in Louisiana anymore.

Boy that was prophetic. I don't think she could have done worse if she tried.

And yet, her worst was still better than just about any of our previous governors.

Re: Isn't there an election to determine the next governor of Louisiana on October 20

Tell everyone you know - Don't vote for Georges... Georges has flat out LIED... He attacked Jindal's support of the troops saying that Jindal "cast the deciding vote to defeat an additional $53 million in veterans' healthcare and benefits" and that Jindal "voted against allowing returning Reservists and National Guard members acces to TRICARE - the health insurance program for veterans." The first is HR 2528, the second is HR 1815... Problem - HR 2528 PASSED (425-1 and the 1 wasn't Jindal) and was signed by the President. AND HR 1815 PASSED (290-39 and Jindal wasn't one of the 39) and the President signed it...

    RE: HR 2528
The vote Georges is referring to: http://www.congress.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d109:HZ00216:
Which refers to an amendment to HR 2528, not HR 2528 itself. Didnt pass, 213-214... That's one vote... Jindal was a "No". The amendment was for $53 million extra, so Georges is, in fact, NOT lying. Whoever gave you that information is the one lying, by giving false information on a completely different subject.

That took all of like 5 minutes to find. I'd be willing to bet it's the same case with the other claim. Georges says something about one thing, and the Republican Propoganda machine claims he is lying by showing something completely different and hoping you dont notice.

Do the democrats have a Propoganda Machine?

    I want one.

Like I want a private skywriter (preferably the dude from TALESPIN) to follow me around at all times: "LUMINAIRE IS A BAD ASS"

Will be voting for Jindal again...very genuine and is extremely intelligent...

Just better hope the same doesn't happen like in '03 when Glanco barely forced a runoff then won the election...here's to hoping he runs away with this one...
