A great example of what is wrong with the entire situation. I didn't see the police officers in the Rodney King ordeal get to attend special functions and get marches to free them of what they had done. I hear all the time that people want everything to be "equal" and that everybody is the same. But at the same time these very people are the ones wanting to be different and have the law work for them in every way possible...flip flop flip flop as some would say.
I believe that every man is equal no matter of race, color, etc. Therefore, lets do away with the BET and other "special exceptions" or begin to allow programs such as WET(www.bet.com exist but I wouldn't go to www.wet.com if I were you) and not be offended by it when it happens. And remove Rev. from your names...
I don't know if any of you scrolled down and read the comments that posters left about the article, but it seems that they agree with what is being said on this thread.
I think it's the fact they were invited and have been celebrated...

It does make me feel a little better to read some of the posts. I just wonder why none of these people are ever interviewed by the national media?
These are comments by folks who care enough to dig a little deeper for information. They don't depend on the drive by media for all their facts. The media plays things out and suppresses these type things (remember the you tube videos?) that shed a negative light on the "central theme" they are trying to pound into everyone's head.It does make me feel a little better to read some of the posts. All the evidence we ever needed of this was from New Orleans when we saw the drive by media making excuses for thieves and killers while pushing the blame for EVERYTHING over to the Federal Government (Bush).
