Opens over here on the 17th. If it is the usual, the pit blinds will do well during the first split, then the ducks will go to the protected areas or fly on south. We'll need an Alberta clipper after the first split to get 'em moving.

simple, invite that special guest over if you think your woodie is prepared correctly. A woodie that is not prepared correctly, might leave a bad impression upon your guest.

I hear the only way to prepare a woodie is to lather it up real good w/ the sauce of your choice. Then fill it w/ cream cheese and cook it over low heat. Too much heat will create a not so good woodie, although your guest may prefer it to be heated longer than usual. It also depends on the size of the woodie as to how long you heat it.

there is water in darbonne creek :icon_wink: me and a friend are taking two - four year olds and a 3 year old saturday morning. they'll be up on the bank watching and taking notes on how to properly miss a wood duck screaming up the creek after resting on the lake over night. If its like two years ago, and its looking like this is the case, very few beaver ponds have water in them making darbonne that runs about 3 quarters of a mile through our place, woodie heaven. There were actually a lot of mallards on teh creek two years ago as well.

You better be looking for water, because that Alberta Clipper is headed this way.

Hope you remembered the crickets. Just make sure you have my ducks breasted out. I don't care for whole, plucked duck meat... Matter of fact, just go ahead and strip the meat, spread some cream cheese on it, put in some jalapeno slices on, then roll them up with bacon wrapped around the outside. The BBB grill will be ready around 2:00ish.

WARNING: the ducks are not on the creeks yet and the ones that are fly to the bend in the creek that is furtherest from you. That alright. Hear the bell? it tolls for them and I have a date coming up and they're the guest of honor. LOL

    Re: Duck Season

We opened season in Arkansas the 17th. My son in law and I killed 10 opening morning. 8 teal, 1 greenhead and 1 gadwall. We could have probably killed 30 teal but had our 2 limits by 7:30 and watched several groups come in and buzz or light in the decoys.

This was the fewest ducks I've seen on the Arkansas river in the last couple of years on opening weekend but we killed more ducks. Got a good cold front sweeping in tomorrow night. Thanksgiving weekend maybe good for a change.
