The "Most Valuable" College Football Teams in America

I guess is says something when a 2-9 Notre Dame is STILL the "Most Valuable" college football team in America.

I count 8 SEC teams in the Top 20, including Georgia, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, and South Carolina. For those counting, LSU is rated the 6th "Most Valuable" football team, in America, while Georgia is ranked 3rd.

Georgia over UM just seems odd. Seems like the top 5 brands in CFB would read something like ND, USC, UT, OSU, and maybe Penn State or FSU.

I'm not sure about the others, but Auburn, whom the article notes pulled in over $45million in revenue last year, uses one of those marketing/branding firms. We really need to farm out our branding and marketing. There is no need to reinvent the wheel when there are firms out there who specialize in this.

Georgia doesn't really surprise me because they get the redneck vote much like lsu, but with a larger population base. And keep in mind they have Ga Tech nipping at their marketshare.

The SEC would probably say that 8 out of the top 15, because it sounds even better.

It's pretty crazy the money that's involved, and with a well-designed playoff the money could be even higher.
