Saw Kacey this last weekend (birthday present for Mrs. Inudesu) and it was a fantastic show. Nickel Creek and Lord Huron opened. Both great.

I love great performances where the artist own the stage, audience, and everything else. There are two recent examples I absolutely love.

The first is No Doubt taking on Coachella earlier this year. Superb performance. Absolute pros at controlling the crowd. Unfortunately, the only full performance I've seen is a fan video instead of an official video. Still, everything they did comes across it. I had hoped it would have led to a new album, tour, or both.

The second is G-Dragon with surprise guest appearances by the remaining members of his group BigBang at the 2024 MAMA Awards. I think it's the best performance I've seen in a long time. Like, No Doubt's was already number 1 of late, and this blew right past it. You can tell how momentous it was if you look at the reaction cam videos of the other K-Pop idols. Usually, they are demure and kind of just clap and sway while seating. Not for this, they're fans and act accordingly.
