As did KNLU. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have discovered the band at that point in my life. The Internet was not the same thing back then.

As a KLPI member, I always held a grudging respect for KNLU. I admired their slick production and signal strength.

But I loved that our campus station was totally student run, with way more autonomy than they'd ever have.

(Way more than we should have had, for that matter.)

Right now I'm listening to a radio station using Daft Punk as a baseline on Spotify.

Heard this on the way in to work this morning. Seemed appropriately summer-y. On a related note, all these triple-digit days have had us playing a ton of Beach Boys in the car lately. The daughter seems to like Surfin' Safari and California Girls best.

Deftones - When Girls Telephone Boys

Man, oh, man. Shoegaze screamo at its finest, oh yeah, and art metal's jazziest drummer kicking off the most cathartic bridge ever at ~ 2:20.

alison krauss and union station -- bonita and bill butler.
written by local sidney cox based on an interesting bit of northwest louisiana history. the lyrics are worth researching (authentic river gibberish is hard to understand).
here's a little info about the author's inspiration around minden and lake bistineau.

Do me a favor. If you're just going to listen on your computer speakers, just hold off. Get to the house or somewhere with a pretty decent stereo, CRANK these up and ENJOY!!
Now you can watch these guys in a movie (backed by Markie Mark - hopefully they'll collaborate on the soundtrack).
