Guisslapp's recommendations are child's play compared to Warren Zevon.
Warren Zevon, January 24, 1947 – September 7, 2003) was a GREAT American rock singer-songwriter and musician. Zevon's compositions include "Werewolves of London", "Lawyers, Guns and Money" (covered by Rick Derringer, and later a big hit by Hank Williams, Jr.), "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" and "Johnny Strikes Up the Band", all of which are featured on his third album, Excitable Boy (1978). He also wrote major hits that were recorded by other artists, including "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" (Linda Rondstadt), "Accidentally Like a Martyr", "Mohammed's Radio" (Linda Rondstadt, and later Jackson Browne), "Carmelita" (Linda Rondstadt, & later Dwight Yoakam), and "Hasten Down the Wind".
But this is my favorite from Zevon: "Keep me in Your Heart for a While".....
Same song by Eddie Vedder:
Like Zevon, but Eddie Vedder is kind of irritating.
Currently listening to the new U.S. Girls album. Unfortunately, only a couple of tracks have made it to YouTube so far and they are not my early favorites.
If you have SoundCloud, Spotify, or Apple Music, you can probably stream it though. “L-over” and “Poem” are the early standouts to me.
