'08 Football Schedule

Guess who the two OOC teams are. This post from DallasDog in the "Baylor/Army" thread...

The schedule is set to be released in the next couple of weeks. 4 out of conference games, 2 at home 2 on the road. Home, away, away, home all winnable if played well. Anyone who doesn't at least like it, needs to go ahead and just quit, because as much as may be done backasswards at Tech. It is a very good schedule and a good start.

We know one OOC home game is Miss. St. and one road game is Kansas. I'm guessing the other home game is a FCS team. Maybe still SLU. For the other road game I'm guessing ULL. Will we ever know the ins and outs of the Clemson deal? Only one money game. Thankyouverymuch!

I hope Clemson gets off the schedule in favor of an easy win. The trouble is that it was scheduled in Shreveport. If they get another game will it be in Ruston?

It still looks like it could still be @Kansas, Clemson in shreve, MSU in Ruston, and @Ull.

No ULL and No Clemson (next year anyway, not sure about the future). If everything goes as planned, the schedule, consultants report, all that stuff will be announced in conjunction with the build up to the LSU/Tech game on the 16th.

Of course they could still make me look like a liar as far as the announcement date, but we will see.

I just wanted to post in the old thread to keep some positive energy going, it was dying after the Nevada game. I promised I wouldn't tell, and honestly I think they deserve this little bit of thunder. I also wasn't going to let the faithful, on this board go without knowing that something good was coming.

So Clemson got pushed back...maybe. I'd guess they couldn't agree on a buyout price. Clemson did not want to come in '08, so Tech agreed to let them out of '08, but left it open for negotiations...just guessing.

No ULL huh? Hopefully not a money game, hopefully the front end of a home and home Army or Air Force type.

Also car flyers for the students were put about a few days ago and Leah made a radio ad that has been playing constantly on 107.5. Not sure what else but there has been marketing for this event.

That's pretty neat. As you can tell I don't go to latechsports.com everyday. In fact I don't go very unless there is something I am looking for. I wonder how many people do go to that site daily (or weakly).

I wonder if this is a good way to market Louisiana Tech Athletics?

I tried to go back to it to check out some things like game time & ticket prices. The pop up isn't there the second time around. (cookies prob kept it from popping up) It looks good they should keep it up, especially this week.

I guess Shreveport is just too far away to market to. But heck, they aren't marketing a game in Bossier on the 13th so why would I think they would market a game in Ruston to us.

It needs to be played on 94.5, 101.9, 103.1, 100.9, 93.3, 97.7... well, any radio station in North Louisiana, along with any other radio plugs... not reaching enough people on just 107.5 for anything, imo.

Got to pay real money for those stations to run stuff. KXKZ is too kind to Tech with all the trade outs they do in order to get the Tech name out there. Joakes has been approached numerous times about trying to reach some of the Monroe market share outside of what KXKZ reaches. He WILL NOT budget or spend the money needed for such marketing.

BTW, Shreveport needs to be reached too.
