Yep!
I met Fred Durst today.
Under what circumstances?
Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”
He is the director in the movie they are shooting at my school, and I'm in it. Also Keke Palmer, but she is an actress..she is from Akeelah and the Bee (if anyone's seen it)
My neighbor used to be in a Folk-Rock band One Fell Swoop. Only a bar and college act here, but they were huge in Ireland in the early 90s. They were actually signed by a mid-major record label, played Farm Aid '92, and toured Europe a few times. He still gets checks from sales of their CDs, but considering they are only for a few cents, he laughs at them.
My brother-in-law was with a rock band (SoundSide) that was an inde band, but recorded at P-Diddy's recording studio. He's met a lot of big named acts, and has even preformed with some former big names from the 80s that are now playing the small clubs. He left because the lead singer was a coke head and liked the underage tail he could score on Myspace. Sounds like the making of a VH1's Behind the Music that will never happen...
My wife's cousin-in-law is a coach in the NFL and I think it is funny knowing the guy and seeing his name rumored for coaching jobs with other teams and fans drooling over the idea of him coaching for their team. His dad was a famous coach who is well known to Chargers and Cowboy fans and is on the ballot for the Football HOF this year.
Personally, I have only known politicians and athletes.
My dad has met Randy Travis and the band when he was in the Army Reserves. This was right after the Gulf War and after just briefly chatting in the hotel lobby, Randy left tickets and back stage passes for my dad. Unfortunately, that was the same night dad had night flying over south Louisiana and didn't get the message till the next morning.
Oh, and my papaw (dad's dad) used to fish with Jerry Lee Lewis. He said the only time Jerry Lee was quiet was when he was fishing. There was talk that there was a blood relative between Jerry Lee and my family, but no one ever looked into it.

I hung out with McConoughy for a couple of hours at the Mean Eyed Cat one night after he chatted me up in the men's room and broke about 3 man laws in the process.
Not a rock star, but I hear he can play a helluva bongo drum.
I met Keifer Sutherland at the El Dorado(casino) in Shreveport a couple years ago. He rode the elevator with us and left with some, ugly as sin, woman. I also met Doc Gooden, Andy Pettite, Chad Curtis, and a few other Yankee players when I was a younger. David Justice also yelled at me once b/c I tried to get in a crowded Yankees elevator at Arlington
I touched Bobby Bowden one time
