Recruiting/Head Coach

Does anybody know who we may be recruiting for next season ? Would any of the assistants be a good fit ? IMO, no. At least at this time.

I hear we are going after a couple more 5 & change guards. Our goal is to have a full roster with one 6'2, one 6-1 and the rest guards.

Yeah, those double doubles that our post player gets is just horrible. How could we not have someone that could play post... That 27 point game from Sneed should tell you all you need to know about where our needs are right now. Complaining about the lack of a post is on the WRONG track. Our needs revolve around a true PG. Shordy, Pringle, and Williams are good players, but (except for Shordy) I would like to see them in a 2 spot. Whitney was our PG coming into this season and that spot is our true need right now - believe me.

IMHO, our "true" need is replacing who sits on the end of the bench!! So with all these hot shot guards CL recruited he didn't bother to see if any of them could play PG before he offered them a scholarship???

i know really. if he couldnt teach someone to play the point with all the guards he had to choose from than he is a worse coach than i thought. Jeez he has like 13 on the roster. The sadest part about this team is that even with injuries at the beginning of the year. These healthy players don't seem to be getting any better.

And regarding Jo, she is a great player, and her most impressive stats as a POST player have been against really weak teams.

Jo Sneed is the ONLY post we have, and she had to learn to play that position since Long HAD NO POST PLAYER. Jo leaves after this season, let's see if Long brings in anyone, or shifts Dowdell to the post position.

But if we don't have guard leadership with ALL THESE FREAKING GUARDS, then Long's recruiting abilities are even WORSE than his lack of coaching abilities.

Not only will he be back but I have heard rumors that George W., Romney, Huckaby and McCain will be added as assistant coaches since they will all be out of work.

I don't think so but they are good at shooting off their mouths, so that would help in some aspects of the program.
