I WAS AS SHOCKED AS MOST ON HERE TO SEE USM'S RECRUITING CLASS SO HIGH. THEN IT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME HOW IT COULD BE....

APPARENTLY THEY WENT AFTER KIDS THAT WERE ACADEMICALLY INELGIBLE IN OTHER CONFERENCES THAT WITH CUSA'S RULES THEY WOULD HAVE A BETTER CHANCE TO PLAY.

APPARENTLY, MOST OF THESE KIDS WILL NEVER SEE THE FIELD. IF BY LUCK 50% OF THE "3 STAR" KIDS QUALIFY, THEN USM WILL BE OK. OTHERWISE IT COULD BE A LONNNNG 4 YEARS FOR FEDORA AS LONG AS HE IS RECRUITING THESE KIDS.

PERSONALLY, I AM PROUD OF TECH FOR TAKING THE HIGH ROAD RECRUITING QUALITY KIDS ON AND OFF THE FIELD.

GUYS, DOOLEY GETS IT... TECH IS A STEP ABOVE USM.

Honestly, if posting that helps release some of the anger you feel towards USM for taking Jefcoat, then fine. I can understand that. I hate to tell you though, your post is not correct. USM will have some players that more than likely will be placed in prep schools or junior colleges. USM signed 27 players along with one transfer, one greyshirt and gave one walkon a scholly for a total of 30 signees. Since you can only have 25 in a class count, the coaches have recruited to offsett the ones that don't qualify.
As for your b.s. about CUSA having some magical way of getting players in school, I suggest you read this..

Actually it is 14 winning seasons in a row and bowl games 9 out of the last 10 years. Yet, the head coach was still sent packing because he has gotten complacent and was accepting 7-5 seasons.

That's kind of ironic coming from a "directional" miss. school...except that TECH is not a "directional" school.

That's not impressive in the least. Weak schedules and a weak conference doesn't mean you have a good team. And "Southern" Miss is the directional suitcase school.

Now that this is in the pit, I'll chime in. The only recruit I care about is Bret Jefcoat. USM got him, we wanted him. He doesn't have eligibility issues. He's the only recruit they "stole" from us. Chartain is going to prop and he's already having weight control issues. As for the rest of their class, good for them. Whoever gets eligible will play. It's always a gamble to take non-qualifiers, but it's a gamble that we all take from time to time. I'm glad to see that this class doesn't have nearly as many gambles in it as some of our past classes have had. ANYBODY in the country would've taken D'Andre Brown just on the off chance that he gets eligible. It IS true that he would've had to go JUCO or Prep had he gone to the SEC. Had that not been the case, USM might not have landed him. On a similar note, if a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his butt when he jumps. USM's budget and facilities are better than ours and there are a vast number of reasons why. Their AD hates Tech and as long as there is breath in his NLU lungs, we'll never play on the field. Tee Teein' contests are fun, but they don't really matter. Good luck to USM so long as their interests don't conflict with ours. We won the recruiting battle last year. They won it this year. Just thank goodness that we're not losing recruiting battles to ULM and ULL...then we'd have some REAL problems.

I will admit I'm absolutely jealous of your class and production on the field.

However isnt SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI a directional school in MISS?

Louisiana Tech doesnt have any kind of direction in its name.
